Corporate Governance

Defining the frameworks of responsibility, transparency, and ethical leadership that guide our liquid bulk operations in the Netherlands.

Introduction to Governance at Tankopslag Assets B.V.

At Tankopslag Assets B.V., corporate governance is more than a regulatory requirement; it is the cornerstone of our long-term sustainability and operational excellence. As a leading independent terminal operator in the Rhine-Meuse delta, we recognize that our actions impact not only our clients and shareholders but also the environment, our employees, and the local community of Dordrecht.

Our governance framework is designed to promote transparency, accountability, and ethical behavior across all levels of the organization. By adhering to the highest international standards, we ensure that our storage and logistics operations are conducted with integrity, safety, and a forward-looking perspective on energy transition.

Board Structure and Oversight

Our Board of Directors is responsible for the overall strategic direction of the company. Comprising seasoned professionals from the energy, maritime, and financial sectors, the Board ensures that management’s actions are aligned with the interests of our stakeholders.

Executive Leadership

Responsible for daily operations, health and safety protocols (HSE), and the execution of strategic expansion projects.

Supervisory Board

Provides independent oversight, ensuring compliance with Dutch law and the Dutch Corporate Governance Code.

Ethics and Compliance

Tankopslag Assets B.V. maintains a "Zero Tolerance" policy regarding bribery, corruption, and anti-competitive practices. Our Code of Business Ethics is a mandatory guide for every employee, from our terminal operators to our executive suite.

  • Anti-Corruption: Strict adherence to the UK Bribery Act and FCPA standards, regardless of jurisdiction.
  • Conflict of Interest: Clear disclosure requirements for all major financial and operational decisions.
  • Whistleblower Protection: A secure, anonymous reporting channel for employees to flag unethical behavior without fear of retaliation.

Proactive Risk Management

In the liquid bulk storage industry, risk management is synonymous with safety. Our governance structure integrates risk assessment into every operational workflow. This includes quarterly reviews of environmental impact, cybersecurity threats to our terminal automation systems, and market volatility.

"Our goal is not just to comply with the PGS-29 and ISPS standards, but to lead the industry in creating safer, more transparent storage solutions for the fuels of tomorrow."

By maintaining rigorous internal audits and engaging third-party inspectors regularly, we provide our partners with the assurance that their assets are managed under the most disciplined governance regime in the Port of Rotterdam area.
